FREIGHT TRAFFIC & TRACTION: 59 206 hauling the Robeston-Westerleigh tanks, 67 006 in the Peak District with the Warrington-Dowlow trip, 37603 + 37 604 hauling a rake of former Fastline coal hoppers, 57 001 leaving Brush Traction at Loughborough under its own power, Euro Cargo Rail Class 66s return to the UK for autumn RHTT duties, 47 739 hauling the first Colas timber train out of Ribblehead, 73 109 & 73 201 on GBRf Thameslink engineering trains, the first Class 57s to work the Hitchin-Sheerness scrap, DB Schenker hire in DRS Class 37s for Scottish ballast and charter trains, Mendip Rail 59s on DB Schenker infrastructure work, 60 099 receives Tata Steel livery, Class 58s en route from Toton to Kingsbury for breaking…and a 9-loco Peterborough to Doncaster GBRf light engine convoy.

PASSENGER TRACTION, RAILTOURS & SPECIALS: Freightliner’s 90 045 on hire to Virgin West Coast, 08 483 arriving at Paddington with the stock of the ‘Night Riviera’ sleepers while 60 059 works into Glasgow Central with Scotrail’s Euston beds, DRS’ 47 790 working East Anglian drags between Norwich and Great Yarmouth, 57 604 ventures to Weymouth with FGW’s final Bristol-Weymouth loco-hauled service, 67 025 rescuing an East Coast HST at Grantham, FGW HST diversions into London Waterloo and over the Chiltern line, 40 145 on its ill-fated ‘East Lancs Explorer’ charter, 33 207 ventures to Whitby, 47 500 returns to traffic, Grand Central’s Paxman Valenta HST farewell, 55 022 on a GB Railfreight staff special…..and D1015 conquering Ais Gill summit on the S&C.

THERE’S ALSO: DRS Class 37s testing the new Airdrie to Bathgate line, 86 101 & 87 002 and 86 701& 86 702 working Network Rail’s radio survey train, 47 739 towing former Fastline ‘Grids’ 56 301 & 56 302 from Doncaster to Hitchin, a bizarre combination of the Scotrail sleepers and slurry tanks, 66 845 hauling a new 11-car Pendolino set from Dollands Moor to Edge Hill, 47 580 hauling a staggering 8-loco convoy of heritage locos, two GBRf Class 73s venture to Devon as barrier vehicles for a FGW stock move, D444 Exeter hauling preserved locos from the East Lancs Railway to Barrow Hill, D9009 high-speed wagon-testing on the GCR, 31 128 works North York Moors Grosmont-Whitby shuttles….and 25 059 on the newly re-opened Caldon Low branch in Staffordshire.
