TRACTION 2003 Part 1

We thought we had covered just about every working imaginable in the previous 15 programmes in this series. We were wrong!! and no one is more surprised than us, because yet again we have more than enough footage to fill 90 minutes with just 5 months!! Here’s a small taster of what you can expect to see…

DRS Class 47s leaving Springburn Works following overhaul, Class 58s leave the UK for Spain, 20 301 + 37 610 on the mothballed Methil branch with the DRS freight trial to Cameron Bridge, Royal Mail diversions over the Chiltern Line, Class 31s venture to Fort William with the Ultrasonic Test Train, 56 114 working a Rhymney-Cardiff service, 37 038 on the Avonmouth-Crewe Cars, 47 270 hauling the Stanlow-Humber tanks, 47 197 on Heavy Haul coal duties, 46 035 hauling the Bristol-Old Oak Common mail vans, 56 018 at Tiverton (that’s Tiverton in Devon!) with a rake of HAA coal hoppers, 4 x DRS Class 37s on the Grangemouth-Daventry, Class 14 D9504 shunting steel traffic at Chatham Docks, 47 812 on the Dagenham-Calvert ‘Bins’, Class 31s return to Portsmouth Harbour on service trains, 87 001 transformed back into BR corporate blue, D1015 on the North Wales coast, 57 306 visits Whitby, EPS’s 73 130 on the Shepperton branch with the Serco Test Train, Class 33s on ‘Desiro’ stock moves for South West Trains, 31 459 ventures to Stranraer and Milngavie with an Inspection Saloon, Class 73s on the Barnstaple branch en-route to Meldon Quarry…and FOUR HST power cars running light engine from Longsight to Laira.
