A
selection of titles on specific locomotive classes. Three of these
feature the activities of the Class 50s during their final years of
service for British Rail. When ‘Class 50
Finale’ and ‘Fall and
Rise of the 50s’ were released in the early 90’s they were
considered to be ground-breaking productions as they provided a
previously unseen detailed insight as to how BR maintained one of their
locomotive fleets. Both programmes are centred around Laira depot at
Plymouth where the Area Fleet Manager ensured that EVERY aspect
involving their allocation of Class 50s was recorded in detail.
Other titles in the ‘profiles’ section cover the life and
times of the Class
37s during the late 80’s/early 90’s and an in-depth look at the Type
5 fleet, pre-Class 66.
